It's been a whirlwind for the past few weeks at Birmingham, and there are quite a few new things on the horizon! In addition to ramping up the Birmingham Pen Factory, the Birmingham Press is getting a workout as well.
I was floored to see the response to the Demonstrator 1.0 release and have been hard at work cutting acrylic to prepare the initial units. Everything appears to be on track for everyone to have their numbered units within the 30 day timeframe. In the mean time I had a few new Model-A materials already turned and polished to release over the next couple weeks including the "Apocalypto", "The Nothing", and some drool-worthy translucent acrylics.
Apart from the pen making I'm releasing what I "believe" to be among the world's first A3 and A4 Tomoe ring bound notebooks. The initial releases in what I intend to be a very diverse line of new notebooks, the A3 and A4 Tomoe notebooks come with 50 sheets (100 pages) of Tomoe River Paper. Currently the A3 stock is 52Gsm, and the A4 stock is 68Gsm. While the A4 notebook is a more practical "carry along", the A3 is a monstrous canvas for fountain-pen-friendly ideation unlike any other! Stay tuned for new size and cover stock variants.
Thank you for being a part of the Birmingham story, and I'd love to hear what you think in the comments below!
