Armadillo will display a light grey to grey pink in low saturations (like an armadillo snout), then shift to a unique pink purplish black in high saturations (like an armadillo shell.) The broadest color spectrum is visible on slightly hydrophobic fountain pen friendly papers like Tomoe River (used to produce our color swatch.) The pinks are mostly skipped on Rhodia paper.
We manufacture our fountain pen ink by hand in the workshop from a series of raw ingredients selected for stability and performance. Our inks are compounded with diluent, thickener, humectant, lubricant, surfactant, preservative, and colorant. Ingredients are meticulously combined and refined over roughly two dozen steps with a minimum of three thorough mixing steps per color to ensure quality and consistency within every small batch.
The 60mL volume will provide approximately 75 standard converter refills with an average 0.8mL draw. Hand-labeled glass bottles arrive prepared in our beautifully foiled Birmingham Pen Co. gift box.
