A converter functions as the ink reservoir within a fountain pen, operating with a twisting plunger mechanism to draw fluid for storage in the cylinder. The receiver fits a standard international-sized nozzle which is by far the most common size, compatible with a variety of fountain pens. Every Birmingham Pen Co. fountain pen includes one converter, but it's common to hold extra on hand. 

Each set includes two (2) separate ink converters. The cylinder will draw approximately 0.8mL of ink per fill. This converter is currently compatible with all Birmingham Pen Co. fountain pens.
